The huldra is a stunningly beautiful lady with long hair; though from behind she is hollow like an old tree trunk, and has an animal's tail. Folklore: A boy in Tiveden went fishing, but he had no luck. Then he met a beautiful lady, and she was so stunning that he felt he had to catch his breath. But, then he realized who she was, because he could see a fox's tail sticking out below the skirt. As he knew that it was forbidden to comment on the tail to the lady of the forest, if it were not done in the most polite manner, he bowed deeply and said with his softest voice, "Milady, I see that your petticoat shows below your skirt". The lady thanked him gracefully and hid her tail under her skirt, telling the boy to fish on the other side of the lake. That day, the boy had great luck with his fishing and he caught a fish every time he threw out the line. This was the huldra's recognition of his politeness.

Do you know about the Tyttes?
Deep in the northern woods there's a small clearing among the pine trees. Tucked in this glen is a cranberry patch. It might look like your run-of-the-mill patch of berries, but not so. It's Cranberry Hill, home of the Tytterud family.

They are Tyttes
Tyttes are small, troll-like creatures that live close their favorite dish: troll cream, made from cranberries, weasel milk and - for flavor- two juniper berries, They are jolly little tykes that won't say no to the occasional party, But even though they resemble trolls, the last thing you want to do is call them cranberry trolls; they'll be rnortally offended. You see, they aren't just anybody; they're tyttes! Even though tyttes are hard to get to know, we've succeeded in establishing contact with theTytterud family. We're the first humans to observe them as they go about their daily lives. And working from our sketches and notes, our sculptor has produced lifelike representations. In fact, these tytte sculptures are the only ones in the world that the tyttes themselves have given their seal of approval.
